Terms & Conditions – Beyond Borders Parenting
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the services offered by Beyond Borders Parenting (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a session or using our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. About Beyond Borders Parenting
Beyond Borders Parenting provides online parenting coaching for multicultural and multilingual families. Our aim is to support you in navigating cross-cultural parenting, family communication, and everyday challenges in a global context.
We are not a medical, psychological, or psychotherapy service. Our services do not diagnose, treat, or cure mental health or medical conditions, and they are not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.
2. Description of Services
We offer online parenting coaching sessions, typically conducted via video call or other agreed online platforms. Coaching may include listening to your concerns, exploring options, sharing tools and strategies, and offering guidance tailored to life in a multicultural or cross-border context.
Coaching focuses on skills, reflection, and practical steps. It is future-oriented and collaborative. You remain responsible for any decisions you make and actions you take based on our conversations.
We do not provide crisis support. If you or your child are in crisis, at risk of harm, or in need of urgent assistance, you must contact your local emergency services or a qualified health professional immediately.
3. Booking and Cancellations
All sessions must be booked in advance through our online booking system or by direct agreement via email.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full at our discretion.
If we need to cancel a session, we will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative time. If rescheduling is not possible, any pre-paid fees for the cancelled session will be refunded.
If you arrive late to a session, the session will still end at the scheduled time and the full fee will apply.
4. Fees and Payment Terms
The fee for the initial consultation is €75. Fees for follow-up sessions or packages will be communicated clearly before you commit to any further coaching.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due at the time of booking. Your session is confirmed only after payment has been received.
Payments are accepted via the methods indicated on our website or in our booking communications. Any bank charges, currency conversion fees, or transfer costs are your responsibility.
We reserve the right to review and update our fees periodically. Any change in fees will not affect sessions that have already been booked and paid for.
5. Confidentiality and Data Protection
We treat what you share in coaching sessions with care and respect. Information you provide is kept confidential and will not be shared with third parties, except in the limited situations described below.
We may share information if we are required to do so by law, or if we have serious concerns that you, your child, or another person may be at risk of harm. In those cases, we will, where possible, discuss our concerns with you before taking any further steps.
We store notes and personal data securely and only for as long as necessary for the purposes of providing our services and complying with legal obligations. For more detail on how we handle your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
6. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information and to engage honestly and respectfully during sessions. Coaching works best when you are willing to reflect, experiment with new approaches, and take responsibility for your own choices.
You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection, a private and quiet space for online sessions, and any necessary technology to participate.
If your circumstances change in a way that may affect our work together (for example, a new diagnosis, legal process, or safety concern), you agree to let us know as soon as possible.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our coaching is intended as supportive guidance, not as professional medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. You remain solely responsible for any decisions, actions, or outcomes that arise from our work together.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of our services.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the services we provide is limited to the amount you have paid for the session or package directly related to that claim.
8. Online Services and Technical Issues
Because coaching is delivered online, occasional technical issues may occur. If a session is significantly disrupted by technical problems on our side, we will reschedule the session at no additional cost to you.
We are not responsible for technical issues on your side, such as internet outages, device failures, or software problems. Standard cancellation terms may still apply in these situations.
9. Intellectual Property
Any materials, tools, or resources we share with you (including worksheets, guides, and frameworks) are for your personal use only. All intellectual property rights remain with Beyond Borders Parenting unless otherwise stated.
You agree not to copy, distribute, adapt, or use these materials for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services we provide, are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
If a concern arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter informally and in good faith. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, the courts of the Netherlands will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services or in applicable laws. The most recent version will always be available on our website, with the date of the latest update indicated.
By continuing to use our services after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms & Conditions.
